From a distance, this is the familiar view of Michelango's David. Close-up we notice that it is actually a wallpaper maze – a perfect maze (with one unique path and no loops) seamlessly replicated to extend to the edges of the print. Finding that one unique path from one blue marker to the other may take you a while, though.
The abstract shapes in the four panels of this polyptych hint at a looming presence much larger than the piece itself. And at a much smaller scale, each panel reveals a wallpaper maze with one unique path from marker to marker.
Where will wriggly worms wander when warm weather wets white walls? The p3 rotationally symmetric pattern on this panel extends across all four panels in the Nematessel tetraptych (if they are hung as shown).
